FAQ’s

Here’s A List Of Our Most Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Pets are safer and happier when they can be left to their own routines and in familiar surroundings, which is typically achieved by the pet staying in their own home free of stress, anxiety and encounters with strange pets. With the confidence and trust of a professional, dependable and caring pet sitter, all pets can stay in the comfort of their own homes and in their own established routines when the pet parent is away on vacation or business or otherwise unable to care for the pet.

  • Colleen’s Creature Care loves all creatures big and small and we specialize our care in dogs of all breeds, cats, exotic birds and small house pets such as rabbits, hamsters, ferrets and guinea pigs.  We do not currently offer sitting services for farm animals, reptiles and fish.

  • For their safety and ours, we require proof of a current Rabies vaccination.

  • We will visit your dogs up to four times a day. Morning visits are between 6:00am and 9:30am; midday visits are between 11:00am and 2:30pm; afternoon visits are between 4:30pm and 6:30pm; evening visit are between 7:30pm and 10:00pm.  Dogs with special needs will be visited as often as necessary.  Please check with us to arrange a schedule most accommodating to their needs.

Cats are typically visited once daily, however we will visit two or more times a day if requested.  All cats being cared for by us must be visited at least once daily.  Cat visits are scheduled between 7:00am – 8:00pm depending on the time of day you usually feed your cat.  We will discuss your cat’s schedule during our initial consultation and arrange a visit schedule that works best for you and your cat.

We do not currently offer overnight sitting services.

  • Yes, for their safety we require that all dogs be on a leash when they are not on their owner’s property.

  • Adequate supplies should be on hand for the period of time you will be away (food, treats, litter, pocket pet bedding, bird cage lining, etc.) If supplies run out, we will purchase additional supplies and bill you accordingly.

  • We are dedicated to excellent care of your pet. In the event of an emergency, we will take your pet to the nearest emergency animal hospital or your own Veterinary.  At that time we will contact you or your emergency contact person.

  • Call or text us as soon as you are aware of your delay.  We will continue to care for your pets until you are home.  We are available to receive calls or texts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • The initial consultation is a meet and greet so we may get acquainted with your pet and your home; it is free and typically takes 45-60 minutes.  We will discuss your pet’s routine, type of food/treats to be given, feeding schedule, walking schedule, pet’s habits, fears, playtime activities, medications, special needs, home access information and the needs of any of our complimentary services.

We ask that you have a few items ready and available for us:

Proof of an up to date Rabies vaccination.

If micro-chipped, the number and servicing company for the chip.

    Your Veterinary’s contact information.

  • We always try to help clients on short notice.  However, if you are requesting the day-of-services (and for the first time) we cannot guarantee availability.  An initial consultation is required to get the process started.

  • For new customers, 50% of all pet sitting services must be paid at the time the service agreement is signed, typically during the initial consultation; the balance of the service will be due by the first day of the pet sitting service.

For existing customers, 50% of all pet sitting services must be paid by the first day of service; the balance is due within seven days of the conclusion of the service.

We accept cash, personal checks, debit cards and all major credit cards.  Please make checks payable to Colleen’s Creature Care.  Payments with debit and credit cards can be paid in person or online via PayPal.  Please visit our website for the PayPal link.

  • During inclement weather we will make sure your pup has the chance to get outside and go potty and get lots of socialization and playtime indoors.

  • We ask that you contact Colleen’s Creature Care at (856) 230-3300 to confirm your return home.  This notification process prevents us from worrying about your pet(s).  If we do not hear from you within six hours of your stated return, we will assume you have been delayed.  The pet sitter will stay on schedule until we hear from you.
